I'm leaving for college August 21st. After days of heavy researching different laptops, i found this Asus on newegg:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220273

It looks like an amazing deal! the only thing i'm worried about is that i keep reading that the speakers suck. i looked up the review for the F8Sn-C1, since they seem similar, but i don't remember reading anything about it in the review? if anyone can tell me about their experience with the speakers, it would be great.

Also i'm just going to be using it for word, web browsing, and light gaming( world of warcraft, cod4 on medium settings)

I think the F8 series share the same speakers as the A8 series. I have an A8Js and the speakers indeed do suck. I usually use headphones. It should fit you just fine for what you're looking to do. Heck, I'm running Grid, Assassin's Creed and Gears of War on medium settings on my A8Js's 7700m so you should have no problems with the 9500m.

I was personally thinking about the F8SN-C1 since I like the 1440 x 900 resolution.

You can save another $100 with EXcaliberPC.
I think all all F8 have same speakers.

the speakers are awful but so are almost all laptop speakers.

i have the f8sn-c1 and very happy with it. i would take it over the f8sn-b1 just for the screen.

I have the F8Sv-A1, and I believe all the F8 have the same "bodies", so to speak (including speakers).

The speakers are... audible. If you just need to hear the sounds or listen to music, they are fine. They really do not go very loud; even on full volume, quiet dialogue in movies was a little difficult to hear. Also, of course, there is no bass whatsoever. But for casual gaming and music listening, I find them to be adequate. I'll admit, I do miss decent speakers, but it's not something I regret over with this laptop, it's quality everywhere else :)
