I have done a lot of searching on this and the only updated driver I can get for my X1700 is if I 'mod' another one.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, any easy guides and suggestions of which driver to mod for stability and speed.

I'm assuming that this is worth the effort - I was hoping to maximise my Gaming ability on my Asus F3Jp.

Bit of a beginner so bear with me!

    Thanks in advance.....

    Thanks will have a look.

Should I be expecting significant graphics ability gains from an updated driver?

    Is the hassle worth it!?

it's really no hassle, in a way that asus guide talks it up to be more complicated, just head to the modtool site and read the guide there with pics and follow that. Very easy. And yes, worth it! Then download ATI Tray Tools and set some good underclocked(battery saving) and overclocked auto switching profiles!

No, use Mobility Modder to mod the ATI driver, you can modded any version of ATI Catalyst driver download direct from ATI:
