We unfortunately do not have a guide for XP on the F5.

Check first the support.asus.com site, maybe they have XP drivers for your model. A related model may do well, too, (F5J?) since some of the hardware may be common.

Also, there are Vista drivers that are likely to work for XP:
    - ATK stuff (Drivers and utils)
    - Chipset drivers

and there may be others, you need to try.

Then, download drivers from manufacturers (e.g., typically Realtek for audio) for whichever devices it is possible.

For the ATI card, the Mobility Modder should help you (google and you'll understand ;) )

Finally, for the rest of the devices, you will need to hunt down older ASUS models with the same hardware and XP support, and download the respective drivers.

Maybe when you get it solved, you will have installed and uninstalled a lot of drivers which may lead to unreliability/instability. Best to write it down, and when you have everything, do another install and install the correct drivers only.

Yes, Asus often recycles drivers from XP to Vista (and vice versa) as there is substantial similarity between the kernels of the OS'.

Start your drivers CD, and on the list you will see all that you need to find.

GPU, Audio, ATK drivers and utils, Card Reader, Camera if you have it, Touchpad (usually Synaptics), LAN, WLAN, Infrared if you have it, and I;m sure I have missed some. Just look at the drivers CD list.

I do not know that type of application and how reliable it is. I would therefore recommend doing things manually, since (based on my incomplete information) this is the safer alternative.
