I have an asus N80Vb and hate Vista. I have XP ready to install but need some info on getting the XP drivers for our notebooks?
Anyone successfully go from Vista to XP on these laptops and if so did you run into any issues, snags and such?
Thanks for your help!

Hi spankey and welcome to the forums.
Most of the Vista drivers on your drivers disk will work with XP. The XP drivers you need to download are usually VGA (can be downloaded from laptopvideo2go.com), wifi (can be d/l from either Intel or Atheros, depending on the your wifi card), audio (d/l from Realtek.com), and possibly even the lan driver (also available from Reaktek).
When you install XP, you have 2 options: 1. Slipstream XP with the SATA driver (you are essentially creating your own XP installation disk). 2. Go to your BIOS and select compatible mode in your SATA option. -
Thanks David and thanks for the welcome. I will try all you stated.
Wish me luck!

If you have access to a USB floppy drive, you can avoid having to slipstream by making a driver diskette. Then you can press F6 at the beginning of the XP Setup where it says 'Press F6 if you need to install a third party driver' and insert the disk and hit Enter. The driver disk can be found here:

It's commonly referred to as the Intel "F6 floppy"
