Hi guys, just wondering how to set this up. I have already installed XP on the first partition but when I try to install Vista from the recovery cd it does not give me the option to install it on the second partition. I tried running a search on this but could not find anything. Anyone know how to do this with the Vista recovery cd?

Have you considered moving the XP install to the second partition and allow Vista to go on the first? You may need to figure out a way to get the boot loader to acknowledge the presence of both OS

Yeah, I don't think there's an easy way to do this... i'm afraid it's quite likele the guys that built the recovery discs didn't provide an install path for this situation.

Please, wait for others with experience in installing Vista to respond before taking any action.

Otherwise, perhaps your best bet is to install Vista first, XP afterwards, and use some kind of boot management software to make them live in peace together?

Hmm, has not any else tried setting up a dual boot install with the Vista recovery CD yet?
Moving XP to the second partition and letting Vista take the first like it wants might do the trick. I just know I'm gonna have issues with the boot loader.
    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I have XP Pro setup on my G2P. I got an XP driver disk mailed out to me from ASUS. Worked fine. Contact ASUS and see if they will mail you out one.
I may just have to move XP to the second primary partition. Hope Vista doesn't mess it up.

the problem I am having is XP is not recognizing the hard drive at all! I have tried re-partitioning and reformatting with FAT32, and fdisk /mbr on both partitions - can see the drive with an old dos boot USB flash disk I have, and with hiren's boot CD - but XP still says no hard drive!

ShiroX - did you have this problem? I can't find any SATA option in BIOS to change the SATA mode!
