I couldn't seem to find a thread on this, i tried looking. But I'm mainly curious about what the 1000HA has over the 900HA besides a bigger screen, keyboard, and much bigger footprint.

I've been debating between the two and the only difference I can find is size. Maybe I haven't been looking long enough but the size does not seem to be worth the extra $100, can anyone fill me in or direct me to a spot that could? Thanks.

The 900HA seems to have all the same insides as the 1000HA

    Both have the 1.6Ghz atom.
Both have a 160 GB HDD.
Both seem to use g/b wireless unlike the 1000H's n

The main differences are that the 900HA has the smaller form factor than the 904HA and thus the 1000HA (The 904 used the 1000HA chassis)

Another minimal difference is that the 900HA uses a VGA camera while the 1000HA uses a 1.3 mp camera.

Also I'm kind of fuzzy about it but it seems that the 900HA can only support 1gb of RAM, however I'm not sure

Any other differences just lemme know and I can add them to my list so people don't need to look.

If anyone can find a few pictures of a 900HA and a 1000HA/904HA all the same color that would be great, focusing on black and then white just doesn't show the whole truth.

The batteries are different as well.

The 900HA has a 4-cell, I believe. The 904ha and 1000ha both have 6-cells as I understand, and that will make a substancial difference in how long you can use them away from an outlet.

I believe the Eee PC 900 series didn't have a fantastic battery life. Have you tried looking for photos of the Eee 900 or the Eee 1000H. Both are essentially the same shells as the ones you mentioned.

And, sorry to nitpick but it's just way I am...

'The main differences are that the 900HA has the smaller form factor than the 904HA and thus the 1000HA (The 904 used the 1000HA chassis)'

The word 'thus' should be 'hence'.

I could not personally go with anything smaller than the 1000H the keyboard is just right. Anything smaller would make touch typing a pain.

The 904 I suppose is a valid option to save money, its the same with a smaller screen I think, but it would be a tad unslightly.

I cant wait for the reincarnation of the 1000H with a higher res screen, and we are really lucky a dual core atom. Then it would be my perfect companion (and an IGP upgrade would be nice too)

If you want something sort of between the 1000H & 900 there is the 1002HA model same keyboard/screen as the 1000H but smaller battery and thinner and it looks much nicer. So same footprint top view but thinner and lighter.

Well, funny thing in Australia, from what I've seen, the 904 is more expensive than the 1000H.

This is mostly because the 1000H's on sale here now were bought during the time our economy was strong compared to that of the US. When the 904 was shipped here, our economy was in the dumps. I think One can get a 1000H for ~$600AU and a 904 for ~$750AU (?)

The reason it is cheaper is because that 1000H has a celeron proc. The Atom is cheap, but still not cheaper.

Negative, 1000H and 1000HA have the Atom processor. 1000HD has the celeron processor

I realized the battery difference at work the other night but haven't had time to get on an update, sorry I used the word 'thus'.

the 904 is a mis of the 9 inch screen in the 10inch body. with the 6 cell.
the 900ha is the more afforable version of the 901, and the 1000ha is the more affordable version of the 1000H.

904 fits right in between giving you the bigger keyboard.

Oy, this was confusing, sorry- I used the logic of the H instead of the HA - I was under the impression that the A is for Atom. Does anyone know, btw, what the actual 900ha webcam megapixel rating is? Asus has it listed as being 0.3, but other sites have it as 1.3, and I read one user who said it has 1.3, and another who said it has 0.3. Does anyone know what it ACTUALLY is? I would be so grateful.

I'd guess that its actually a 0.3 because I haven't really found much information on it that would state otherwise. The only bit I've read on it is that its a 0.3.

See, I have read in other places that it is 1.3 - and a user review on newegg said that it was 1.3.

    Thanks for the link, EBE.

I did not mean for the camera resolution, that thread doesn't cover it, but for the more general EEE netbook questions.

Does anyone know what is the best place to buy (in Canada) an ASUS Eee pc online or in a store? I'm having so much trouble. Preferably a place that has a wide selection of all the models.

The only problem I have with the 1000HA over a 900HA is the tremendously (sp?) large footprint it has for a 10 inch screen, just seems like the one inch extra in the screen shouldnt lead to a footprint that much larger, should it?

I just bought the 1000HA from ebay through the Microsoft Live/Paypal cash back deal. Price was $417 + CA tax.. then I got an email that I qualified for $104 cash back.. so total price will be around 350.00 shipped...

The catch is the "cashback" doesn't become available to you until after 60 days of purchase....

The live.com's "cashback" is more like an electronic rebate. I guess the term "cashback" is more appealing to consumers, hence the choice of that term
Though it's still better than nothing :D

But another thing to ponder is the fact that many people have complained about the keyboard on the 900 series being too small.

Also I hear that the 900 has a darker screen but you can use a 3rd party program to brighten it up if I'm not mistaken. (Still looking into the name of the program)

I never thought it would but screen brightness means more and more to me as of late. Something else to keep in mind that you lose with the smaller body.
