This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     EEE PC 901 problems or netbook limitations?

    Mm, so I'm ready to sell my SXPS 13"... I realized that even a 13" laptop is too much for me.

    So I dug out my old EEE PC 901, loaded ubuntu netbook remix on it and eee-control. I noticed that it is laggy as hell. Opening up new tabs is laggy. If I have youtube video in the background as music, you can hear it skip as I open/close folders or load big webpages.

    Is this the limitation of netbooks? Or is this a EEE PC 901 problem (due to the SSDs)?

    Trying to decide if its worth it to get another netbook, or make the jump to a pentium ultraportable.
