I'm setting up my daughters new eee pc for school and I want to show her how to disable the wifi & bluetooth via the hotkey (function / f2) to save her battery life while shes in class, but it doesn't appear to work - nothing pops up like the owners manual says it will. The volume hot keys don't appear to work either. The hotkey to dim the display does work. I've disabled lots of junk from the startup menu via msconfig but I don't see anything in there that would lead me to believe it's causing this issue.
Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

    Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit.
All drivers are current, so I'm wondering if by disabling some of the Asus stuff at start up affected it. Can't figure our which item because none of them are tied to the wifi or bluetooth.

Thanks MDR8850 but I don't see any of those listed on startup or services.

OK, just figured it out....Asus Launcher Service needs to be enabled in order for it to work. Enable, rebooted and it's good to go. Thanks again!
