Hello everybody,
My gf has this asus eee pc (obviously, because it's cheap) with Windows 7 starter. However, there's an issue with it:
When uTorrent is open (and downloading/uploading), you are very limited on what you can do on this netbook. Usually internet browser (opera) works with 5-7 tabs open.
However, when trying to play music in winamp, it usually freezes frequently:
-sound stops (similar effect like you have on a cd player with scratched cd - for comparison);
-mouse cursor does not move;
-view on a screen is freezed;
This continues for a minute or two and then it returns back to normal (for few minutes).
When uTorrent is off, everything works normally (no hangs/freezes).
My question is: how should I solve this?
Would increasing RAM to 2GB solve this issue?
Thanks for your answers!

It could be some kind of wifi driver problem causing a lockup. Try limiting the maximum number of peer connections in utorrent. Uploading and downloading torrents at the same time can be very resource intensive on your poor constrained netbook. Adding more RAM might help but it is probably not a cure. You need to throttle back your connections by rate limiting and having less concurrent connections. Running fewer torrents at the same time is also probably necessary.
You could also try downloading the latest drivers for your wireless card from: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download
Also try running a disk check on your hard drive to make sure that isn't a problem: Check your hard disk for errors -
Thanks for your reply, will try that with a cable connection to see if it's wireless driver fault. After that comes hard disk.
