This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Eee PC 1005HAB - wifi card replaced

    have Eee PC 1005HAB got in 2010 and use it as a mainly torrent box.
    since first use i think the wifi card area was always hot, after a few months the wifi card dropped connections after 1 min, and then didn't connect at all.

    after a weeks of confusion and watching youtube videos i decided to buy a card off Ebay. The are a lot of options but decided on a Intel 5100 out of price and fear of bad product.the original atheros card used the netbook cost 1/3 the price of the cheapest intel card( no wonder it failed)

    Intel 5100 works well and the netbook is ice cool.
