*as the nerd in the family, I get to ask this on behalf of my little sister*

for a bat-mitzvah present, my sister bought herself an Asus EEE pc. It has windows XP, an 8.9" screen, 1gb ram, the atom cpu, a 160gb hdd, etc. We're trying to get it to work on a linksys wireless-G 2.4GHz Broadband router, yet between me and her, we have NO idea how to do it. (Her computer is the first one to go wireless in the house.)

We just want it to work, and there are no instructions in the Eee manual, or at linksys how to set the Eee XP for wireless with linksys. If anyone has experience with this, or can find me a site with the instructions to do so for XP, I'll gladly dish out rep

    Jason

    Be sure that:
    a) The wireless drivers are properly installed (e.g., no yellow mark on the WiFI card in the Device Manager)
    b) The card is actually turned on (there may be a hardware hotbutton for that, or a Fn+Function key combination)

As to a EEE site, I think eeeuser.com has a lot of information.

Right click the wireless icon in the bottom right of the taskbar. Search for available wireless networks. Click on the one that is your wireless router. Done!

Heh yeah I didn't think of going as basic as that. But still, my pre-conditions have to be satisfied for your instructions to work. :p
