I bought a Asus K56CB and one of the thing i´m not enjoying it is the touchpad.
I really don´t like the fact of the buttons area have touch surface.
Theres some tasks i do (like gaming for example) that i like to have my left thumb on the left button.
However on this touchpad that is impossible. If i have my left thumb ready to click, since the button surface is touch, it messes up the cursor which i control with my right hand.
I wish it would be possible to disable the touch on button area.
Theres any way to do it?
I know maybe could be possible (at least theoretically) because theres some finger combinations that works different if i have one of the finger on the button area or not. So it could detect that area.
I´ve tried a lot of drivers versions (Asus, Samsung, Elan), old and new and i can´t disable it. Some drivers don´t show up any control panel, others don´t have any option to that. I´ve been playing with "palm tracking" and it seems to have no effect on that.
I´ve enabled through registry, the "smart area" option, but when i enable it i don´t know how to choose the area. It highlights all the touchpad area. Besides i don´t know if its really working correctly on this drivers and if it could be disable totally the touch or only decreases the sensivity. The driver i´m using now it´s the Samsung 11.7.8.5 and after tweaking the registry, i use the ETDAniConf.exe to config it.
Any help? For now, i´m using Windows 7 x86 (i know i should be using x64 but i´m using my old laptop hdd/os for now).
Elan Touchpad. Any way to disable certain area?
