    Hello.

Not quite sure if this is the right place to post this, but I spent all night googling this issue, and I just can't find an answer to my problem.

I have an ASUS N56VZ notebook. This notebook has an Elfan Smartpad as a touchpad, which allows multi-touch.

The pre-installed drivers seemed to be a mix of the asus elfan drivers and asus' "smart gestures" program.

Now, the problem is that on another ASUS notebook my mate has (K-series, not sure about exact model) the two-finger doubletap functions as middle mouse button, which lets you open links in a new tab, and close tabs. But on my notebook this feature is not there.

And there is no option for it either as you can see here:

I read on the web that you could do some stuff in registry or edit the ini files before install so I uninstalled elan drivers and the asus smart gestures and installed a fresh copy of K-series drivers since those worked for my mate. The options window still looked exactly the same.

So now I uninstalled those, and instead ONLY installed the ASUS Smart Gestures. In this driver there was the same options as in the elan drivers. No way for me to two-finger double tap as middle mouse.

So my question is, does anyone have any idea how I can get two-finger double-tap to work as middle mouse?

    I really need this :ยง

ASUS N53 has this feature, single-tap with 2 fingers function as middle-mouse, I tried downloading those drivers but they do not work on my PC.

So bumping in the hope that someone who knows sees this.

    Hm? Hm! :p

No.. I thought the Smartgesture thing had that setting enabled by default...?

But if not just go here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Touchpad

And download one of the "Elantech touchpad driver" packages. I think the last version is smaller because it doesn't include the videos that demonstrate the different gestures..

Will be a restart involved, and you might lose the touchpad for a bit. So you would have to use some shortcuts/tabbing/arrows, or an external mouse to do the restart.

But you just need to install the Elantech drivers, and then uninstall the "Smartgesture" program from the uninstall menu in the Control Panel.
