Hey guys, I am contemplating getting an EEE pc and I had a question regarding installing applications and windows xp.

First, applications. I know that it is possible to install Windows apps on an external drive (SD), but can this be done in the Linux environment as well?

Now windows. I know that people have run Windows from flash drives, but is it possible to install from one flash drive to a SD card. I would do the normal nlite thing and transfer the files to a flash drive, but after that I am uncertain if it can be booted or started from the linux environment...and then if it could be installed to a SD card.

    Thank you for your insight.

Im not 100% sure what your asking but
Yes you can install linux apps to an SD card
You can install windows XP from an SD card
Installing windows XP from a flash drive to an SD card how ever is quite tricky if memory serves

but can you explain to us what you are trying to do?
do you want to put windows XP on the sd card and run XP inside of linux?
or just to have XP and Linux installed on the machine (Dual boot)

Sorry I was not too clear. Swingman said it, I just wanted to know if I could devote the ssd to linux while having a linux sd card with apps, and a windows xp sd card with apps. I just wanted to see what possibilities there were to dual boot as somethings I have to do only use windows, while everything else is linux.
