This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Here's my old setup, though it has recently changed. There are now two displays on the desk attached to a desktop and the laptop's platform is wedged in the corner.

    I have also added a power supply and two fans to the platform (which is a $5 wire mesh paper holder turned upside down). The fans really pull the ambient heat away from the laptop. One is on the bottom at the vent around the northbridge, and the other is on the side at the fan output pulling a little more heat out from under the platform and the laptop.
