Not sure how to go about doing this, but my primary 14.5gb partition is way too small and I need to extend it by about 5-10gb. What is the best way to go about doing this? Im thinkng maybe shrink the data partition by about 5gb and then maybe merge it with the primary? I dont know

I dont think that will work because if you shrink it, it put the open space at the end of the drive which it wont allow you to merge with the primary partition, your best ( free ) bet is to use gparted to resize your partitions.

your right, I can shrink the data partition but it puts the open space at the end of the drive and I cant merge with the primary. I will try this g-parted you speak of

You can shrink D: / move D: right / resize C: to fill the created space between C: and D:.

BACK UP YOUR DATA! Even commercial software like PQMagic can fail on this sort of thing (it did it last night for me), so gparted is not guaranteed to work, either.
