I've got Asus K55A Windows 7 64bit and I have to use Disk Management every time to mount a USB drive to access it in windows explorer. Doesn't matter what manufacturer. My other laptops, Windows 7 64bit and Windows 8 don't have this issue.
Is there a fix for this? Thanks.

What letters are the drives assigned? It's an odd issue for sure. Can you install a dummy os on the machine to see if that does the same thing?

You can check your "Auto Play" options to see what your Removable drive settings are. Make sure its not set to "do nothing"

That is unusual. Is this happening on both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports?
