Hi, im going to buy Asus Eee PC 1201n and i also have Philips LCD TV 17" widescreen which i wanna use as external "monitor". Philips works best at 1280x768 (with my desktop PC). Nothing blurry, perfectly sharp picture. I read that Eee works on its own screen in 4 resolutions, but there is no 1280x768 listed. My dad had Toshiba Satellite which works on 1280x800 but after i hook it up to my TV resolution switches to 1280x768, which is not listed during using internal screen.

My question is: if i hook up Eee 1201n to my TV will my TV work on 1280x768?

If Eee's resolutions are up to 1366x768 i guess it depends on monitor resolution, which resolutions are listed in desktop settings, right? I suppose graphic card is able to work on many different resolutions (even those not listed on basic setup), just screen hooked up to it limit list of available resolutions.

Hi, does anyone know if a laptop on netbook, like Eee PC1201n or K50IP, can adjust resolution to proper and most suitable for external monitor? I tried with Toshiba Satellite hooked up to my TV through VGA output and it doesnt support 1280x768 by itself for internal screen, thus it displayed 1280x768 on my TV which is perfectly correct. Is current display resolution automatically adjusted to proper one for external screen, even if those resolutions are not suitable and not listed on screen setup for internal screen?

Please tell me especially about those two laptops i mentioned above from Asus.
