I'm sure this has been posted already, but I'm having trouble finding it. If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it. I'm just wondering if that extra year Global warranty from Asus on the W3V is available in Canada, or only in the United States? I recently bought one, and want to claim the warranty ASAP if I'm able to.

    Thanks.

    Dokta,

The 3rd year warranty is a North American warranty and ONLY good through selected US dealers. If you bought your W3 from a US dealer, then you can still submit their invoice to Asus for that extra year. If you bought it in Canada, you're out of the luck.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,
    Justin

What if we buy it from a US shop (like yours) but we live in Canada (or anywhere else)?

Like I said... It's a North American warranty, only good if bought through selected US dealers.... so yes as long as you're still in north america. [ ;)]

Well if you were "aware" of the extra year warranty, you should have known the details of it.

If you didn't buy it from the list of US dealers on Asus site, your invoice will mean nothing. But you have to email it to Asus.

All I was saying is that if you knew about the warranty or some other company mentioned it and they weren't on the list, then it's their problem and you'd have to take it up with them.

But yes, you have to know the details and if the place you bought it didn't have that link to Asus' detail page on it...... then you should mention it to them or Asus because it was sort of part of the deal...... inform the customers.

    Thanks,
    Justin
