so today I bought a Samsung 840 250gb (not the pro version, regular) and replaced the 5200rpm harddrive with it expecting things to really improve.I instaleld windows on it using a USB external harddrive (With windows installer on it).
Windows is snappy, getting a 7.9/7.9 on Windows 7 Experience index and 250mb/s write speeds + 550mb/s read speeds when I test it.
However Windows takes more than a minute to boot where at it only took the 5200rpm HDD 30-40s to boot.
Bios is version 213 (latest)
Latest firmware for the SSD
AHCI Is enabled
All Asus latest Asus drivers installed.
Does anyone have any ideas why this happening?
I timed it at around a minute and twenty seconds for it to boot to desktop.

Well that's not right! Did you install the OS under GPT or MBR? It should boot to OS within 10 seconds, give or take.

You can toggle Fast Boot from within Windows: http:// www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html -
