I recently bought an ASUS 11.6'' x202e model, refurbished from amazon for $320 total. I love the machine, but the battery life (2-cell) seems really a letdown, and there are no signs of aftermarket replacements in the horizon.
Surprisingly enough, a few days later, somehow, I bumped into information on the X102BA and F102BA models; which remains surprisingly elusive, and for which I have found no section in this forum. It apparently comes in two basic iterations, a 2GB and a 4GB model, presumably going up to 8GB (vs. the set 4GB for the x202e), and runs a AMD Temash A4-1200 processor. Display seems the same. And the thing is going for roughly USD $300 too, which means a few months from now one could probably land extremely savory deals with refurbished models or sales.
Now, I think the diminished screen size would actually not be a problem for me, and I have heard the touchscreen, keyboard and trackpad are all responsive on these new units. I am still within the bounds of my 30-day return warranty. But my major concern is about battery life. This unit comes with a 3-cell battery, and is listed as lasting up until 5 hours, over the up to 4 listed for the x202e (which in reality translated to about 2.5-3 hours, even in moderate tasking).
So, seeing there is an astonishing lack of information and 'reviews' on this unit, I want to ask anyone for any insight on whether it is worth the hurdle of the exhange, how processing power compared to the x202e's i3, and particularly battery life.
Thanks!

The F102BA/X102BA will most certainly offer superior battery life, but at the cost of extremely diminished processing power when compared to the Core i3 of the X202E/Q200E/S200E. This is due to the inferior architecture, lack of instruction support, and low clocked CPU.
If battery life is what you want, wait a few weeks. Asus's upcoming successor to the X200CA, the X200LA, is on its way to market. Essentially, its the same laptop as its predecessor but with a Haswell based Core i3 4010u, giving it slightly better performance than your laptop, a lot more battery life, but at the lesser cost of being slightly thicker at about an inch and poorer build quality. -
When is it hitting the market?
Also, and most importantly, from what I'm seeing the thing is going to hit the market at around $499-550? Any more information as to what we can expect pricewise? As I mentioned, I got my x202e for $320 (refurbished), and would like to stay within that range.
F102BA / X102BA vs. X202e/s200e? Please Help!
