Can anyone with the WSXGA+ screen on this model run Everest or take a look at device manager and see what the manufacturer and model number is of the screen. I don't see it anywhere online.

I'm trying to compare it to the screen that comes on the G1/V1/Z96j which is a CMO 1523 (N15421). Thanks!

Both the manufacturer and model numbers would vary as most notebook makers use several screen providers.

It's impossible to tell what kind of screen you will get when you buy a notebook, unless you actually get to look at the exact notebook you will be taking him. Which is highly unlikely.

Actually, most Asus models I've looked at like the V1jp and the G1 use only one particular screen model. Same with the A8js (an AUO B141PW01).

[Edit: The A8js comes with a CMO screen as well]

I'm just interested in the basic specs - contrast, brightness, etc. I've heard only one person mention that the F3jp WSXGA+ screen wasn't as good as the G1 and was just curious what screen it was.

There is a thread on screen models and you can see that most Asus models only had one - but the F3JP isn't listed:

go ahead and post the model numbers for the g1 z96j and the a8jp and the cmo a8js if you could in that thread

    um

And if there is a g2 owner and z84 owner

I havent seen a asus notebook use other than cmo and auo that was introduced past about june of 06. one used cpt i cant remember which one.

In fact, cmo is becoming almost exclusive to every single model top to bottom at this point. Although as far as I know, the wuxga screen in the w2jp hd has to be a LG because they are the only producer at this time of a screen with that statistic.

as far as the model youre saying, it was never available here in the us.

I couldnt even tell you if many people anywhere own that one. I wouldnt imagine it used a screen different than the z96j, thats because it uses a lot of the same parts. It might though

Sure. Actually, that's where I got most of the info I have, but I'll post what I found elsewhere. :)

The f3jp with the SXGA+ is available at Newegg.com and that's why I am interested in it.

I'm not a gamer so don't need anything flashy like the G1 - plus it's pretty heavy. I could pay the extra for the v1, but I would consider an f3 with a good screen as well, or even the A8js/p, but some people love that screen and some are really disappointed in the same model.

I'm probably going to wait for the v2 but am looking at other possibilities. A good display is my #1 criterion so I'm compiling what I can. I'm a former librarian - I can't help doing research. :D

One correction, MysticGolem mentioned that the G1 might have the same CMO1523 as the V1JP, but I can't see where anyone has stated that info for sure. Enough people have the G1 now, that someone should be able to check and post it too.
