On my F3Ja, by clicking on MyComputer/Properties, sometimes I can see that the CPU runs at 997 MHz, sometimes at 2,00 Ghz
How the frequency on the CPU is managed ?
Is there a mean to "force" one or other frequency ? What would be the drawback, to force always 2GHz (advantage seems obvious...) ?
    I specify I'm not running Power4Gear.

    Thanks for explanations !

An obvious disadvantage of forcing it to run at 2.0 Ghz would be power consumption, causing poor battery life. It could also feel hotter. The point of the processor powering down like that is to save battery life and prevent heat build up. But don't fret, you aren't losing any power. If the processor is tasked, it will speed back up to the needed speed. Don't try forcing it to run at any speed, what it's doing is helping you.

True that, if you run it at the full speed it will heat up a lot more and will tax your fans and possibly heat up your GPU and such aswell.
