My Asus is not happy, constantly "thinking" and not as fast as the crappy Dell I haev just bought.

Can I start again with vista and take back to original settings without loosing all Itunes, stuff of harddrive etc?

Would I have to reload all drivers, BIOS etc etc.

Have inserted Recovery DVD but nowt happens, no run files on it and nothing happens when i restart!

Help, deploying on Sat and have to have this runnig smooth before I go!!

this is a long shot...but did you check to see if your hd is in pio mode? this will greatly affect performance.

go to device manager and find the ata controller for your hd and then check in advanced settings (this is how you do it in xp...not sure if it is the same in vista)

also, dl your hd manufacturer's hd utility to see if you have a hardware problem.

(replied on other thread. I emphasize again if you need it running smoothly do not apply tweaks you are unsure about)
