I ordered my F3SV-B1 a little over a week ago so I could have it in time for a LAN party that was this past weekend. The first thing I did the next morning after leaving it to charge was to format the drive, I cut almost 60 processes out a long with a lot of installed bloatware.
The screen is pretty impressive, even though I have heard opinions of the contrary, I have it on a very low brightness setting now (as I am running off of super power saving mode) and when its fully turned up it can get disturbingly bright =P
Well, enough with first impressions, if you guys want me to answer any question/write a review I would be happy to do so... on to my own question...
Newegg lists this laptop as having a 4 hour battery life, maybe if it was off it could get 4 hours. I obviously wasn't expecting it to get that, I was thinking more along the lines of 2-3 and if it got more then great.
When I booted it up just a bit ago to further investigate the battery issue and to make this post on it it said it had an hour and 30 minutes remaining. As of typing this its at 65% and says an hour and 17. I haven't been keeping track of time exactly but its obvious that the little battery gauge in vista is highly inaccurate on this laptop. It seems to always report between 1-1.5 hours of battery life; though it often gets more, and sometimes correct and jump down lower than that.
Are there any programs/tests I could run on the battery or way to make the gauge accurate? If it is accurate and I am only getting an hour and a half of battery life (on power saver of course) is that what most others are getting on this laptop? Would it be a good idea to buy a bigger/additional battery for college to extend the lifetime if the battery isn't very good?
Thanks

Have you installed any games on to it yet? I want this laptop and want to know how games run on it cuz i hear over and over again you should look at real world performance not 3dmark scores. Im interested to know how the f3sv will run oblivion...Man a review would be the greatest! i search google every day for one and of course the forums too.

Unfortunately I don't have oblivion, my friend let me borrow it once and we played on my desktop that was new at the time. I can say that at 1680x1050 it runs world of warcraft/hl2/css flawlessly. It gets capped FPS on WOW in full performance mode and 32 FPS average (in city) on power saver even. I will start working on a review this week probably; I kind of want to have a little more info about the battery before I write one though as that is the area that am uncomfortable with knowledge wise and performance wise.

Thanks for the info. Thats cool that it runs WoW,hl2 and css flawlessly. Any idea on how it runs fear? Cant wait for the review!!
