Its good looking to me, but if you can strech your budget abit more you may want this instead:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220182

    Your 400$ will get you:

A much better video card 8600GT instead of the 8600GS, so if you want to play games this is important.

2gb of ram instead of 1gb, this is a big increase in performance, given you can upgrade the F3SV to 2gb of ram yourself and it wont cost much.

A E-SATA port, not everybody is crazy about esata but I like the idea alot, its the only way to get full speed from a fast external hdd.

A sleeker look, im not crazy about the lights and stuff, but I love the darker black color sceme.

You get the carring backpack and a gaming mouse (looks just like a logitech MX518 wich is what I use and love)

An 8cell batter instead of a 6cell battery so it last longer.

and a HDMI port wich is great for hooking your notebook to a HDTV or newer computer monitor.

For me I think that easily justifies the extra 400$. If you dont need any of those things tho or have a very specific budget the F3SV is a sure bet.

I would be getting the extra 2 GBs of RAM on the F3, yes. Which means an extra $250 basically for that video card. I just don't know if that's worth it. Do you think the durability and casing would be comparable on these two?

Im new to notebooks myself so I cant say. I know the G' series is the top of the foodchain, and the one I was looking at personaly before I came to the forums.

I was told its asus lower end stuff, still good quality but more "plasticy"

Also just so you know Gentec has the G1S for like 1900ish, vs the 2000$ of newegg free shiping too.

The G series is not the top of the foodchain. I think that's the VX Lamborghini series. The G series is the middle-ground, high-performance for gaming, medium build-quality (for an ASUS) series.

i myself was considering buying the F3SV, until i got a F3SC today at work; i really hate the build quality, especially the noisy keyboard; i'm definetely going to reconsider my choice

IMO apart from VX *bows* the V and W series are also on top of the foodchain.
