work = 9 to 6 but real work starts after 10 when i start fear :)

evil game though!!! reduced my sleeping hours to 5!! but definitely dont mind it. Its such a big change.. From a desktop that refused to play Indiana Jones and the emperors tomb - to a notebook that plays F.E.A.R soo smoothly

Ya are you sure you are using the Lost Planet DX10 demo, not the DX9. I am reading around and it seems that there are issues with the DX10 demo.

My laptop specs are as follows:

    F3sv X1
    T7300
    2GB 667
    8600M GS, DDR2 Ram
OC to 650 core, 550 Ram

3dMark06 score, reaached about 3150-3200 last time I did it, over clocked.

I run the Lost PLanet DX10 demo and get really disappointing results. I cannot have HDR on High. It really screws it up. Even on default settings it struggles.

I am going to try the Lost Planet DX 9 demo and see.

Way to Go Microsoft Making a crappy ass DX10. FIX THE BUGS!

and yes, it was the DX10 demo.
i never got 3k+ 3dmark06 though. its weird

I did the same : OC to 650 core, 550 Ram
    but got only 2729

It is also affected by what processes you are running. Me and you are running different processes right. I guess I was running less at the time, allowing for a better score. I also did it right of start up. I closed the Sidebar, and I was using the 158 drivers., before I upgraded to the 165 drivers. I closed my anti-virus, and turned off media share, auto updates, you know all those useless windows features. I had very little processes running allowing for the card to only have to use one SO-DIMM, the one with lower latency my Corsair. The Processor was completely being dedicated to the 3dMark too. So I guess that is why I got a much better score.

I am still confused about one thing, how this card has less of a pixel fill rate than the X1600. The X1600 has double the fill rate. Could it be becuase of the Gddr3 ram?

All Asus 8600M GS's are using DDR2, and I think some of the laptops with the 8600m GT are also using DDR2, but the one in the G1S is using DDR3 for sure.

Well I am going to try another DX10 game and report back the results.

Well I tried call of juarez, and it was pretty good with most settings to high and only maybe the shadows to medium. It ran well, I did not test the FPS but there was very little stuttering. I was playing it on my CRT and it still look surpisingly good.

andy, rafiki got to ask you a favor... could you check how well does the rig work in DarkMessiahOfMightAndMagic, SplinetrCellChaosTheory, SplinterCellDoubleAgent? these games really need "shadows" which means they are often difficult to get satisfactory results from desktops, leave alone laps.
