Whats the deal with this X1, I havent seen anyone but Newegg offer this model, As near as I can tell its the same as the A1 but it has WXGA instead of WXGA+ and it has the older style wifi chip. Asus dosent list it under available models so im wondering if newegg has made a mistake.
Also all the Asus Santa Rosa notebooks Ive looked at dont seem to have Readyboost memory, I thought this was supposed to be a requirment to have the Intel Centrino logo.

No it is not a requirment for the Centrino logo. Only the CPU, the mainboard and the wifi chips need to be from intel to get the logo. For the wifi chip it doesnt even matter if you use the old abg chip with a santa rosa laptop. They can still use the Centrino Duo logo.
Only Centrino Pro has extra requirments, but even there Turbo Memory is optional.
The X1 might be a special newegg only model. I know in Germany Asus often makes special models for the big retailers and they are then only sold in one place. -
Only the W7 has Readyboost memory I think. Maybe the VX1?
