    Hello,

Before you send me to google, i just want to tell you that i did that. I have about 3 days since i'm searching a method to resolve my problem.

And my problem is that, every time i log on windows, it starts with maxim luminosity. Even if my notebook goes in st-by mode, after i get it on again, it starts with maxim luminosity.

I've reinstal Windows XP, yes i know old OS, but i have a licence for that, and my notebook came with a small Linux. I noticed that he does this... luminosity thing, only after i install RMClock. I sow that RMClock have an option named "manage LCD panel brigtness". I've tried all setting there and still nothing, even if i disable that option doesn't do anything.

Do you know any method to disable that brightness on RMClock, or on Windows... or, another undervolt program? I've tried HNC but on this notebook doesn't do anything, it's all grey (it worked on my ex. F5V). I've tried reinstal the ATK drivers & stuff, reinstal the video drivers... but no solution by now.

Thankyou in advice, and sorry for my poor english!

I think all my notebooks do that... and I've never had a problem with it, I just turn it down if needed. So I don't have a solution...

Sorry, I know this is not much help.

Maybe it's a BIOS option. Go to BIOS Setup (F2 on the BIOS startup screen) and look for a brightness option. It could be a changeable option. If this doesn't, I haven't a clue

What power plan are you on? Sounds like the power plan you're on has the brightness set really high, and everytime you resume from standby, the power plan restarts. Check your power settings in the control panel.

On my V1S it does something similar, unless I set the brightness to what I want to be and then change off the power plan and back again. It's almost like it doesn't actually save changes to the power plan until you switch to a different one.

Can be handy if you want to change things temporarily and then reset them easily as I sometimes do.

I've tried all the power plans windows xp have, and all the profiles RMClock have. Still nothing. I've look in the bios too, i have almost no options there, except boot options.

E.B.E. maby you don't know, but you helped me in a way. I've read that Asus have a diferent ACPI implementation about brightness & stuff like that on the RMClock forums. And since i see only Asus in your signature, and your statement about brightness... i think Asus realy did some weird things.

P.S. Any other thoughts, software, ideeas are realy welcomed. Except Vista, who have a mobility center :) who solves my problem, but that means to buy another licence.
