Does anyone know if the F6 battery is the same as the F9 batteries. I am looking for a 9 cell battery and saw on some sites that they were saying the F6 and F9 batteries were compatible with each other. I found a site with a 9 cell for a F9 and want to know if it will work with my F6.

I'm not sure, but from what I'm reading on various battery seller sites they're not compatible. They both put out the same voltage, but they look differently shaped.

These are different angles and I think I can make out similar buttons/sliders at the ends. They may be compatible looking at the pictures.

Yes, the viewing angles are different, plus it's comparing a drawing to a real picture. They do have similar looking latches. I was thinking one looked slightly fatter and shorter, but perhaps the F9 battery sticks out more by design. It's really hard to tell. Anyone have an actual F6 battery they could take a picture of and compare?

I pretty much doubt it. Asus historically has only used compatible batteries for the same size chassis, i.e. F8/M5x. With the F6 being a 13" instead of 12", well... The mAh is the same regardless of the model in the smaller formfactors, 6cell 4800.

We'd need to have one of the resellers here confirm or exclude this, however. Perhaps Ken, Eddie or Excaliber could look up the specs with their Asus product sheets and let us know.

Thanks for the responses guys. I just got an email from from topmicrousa.com who sells a 9 cell for the F9. They said that their databases shows that the F9 and F6 are compatible.
