I need to get a new laptop before I head off to university at the end of the month so time is of the essence for me. I've called up all the dealers (and Asus UK) to see when the series should be launching but everyone seems to be fairly clueless. I was wondering if anyone here had any idea whether I have a realistic chance of getting hold of one before the month. This is in the UK by the way, however, I have connections in Singapore that means I could get one from there if it was launched there.

Thanks a lot for any help.

I am in the same situation - in the US until end of Sep..

I'd like to get a laptop not bigger than 14.1' and with good dedicated graphics - F8Sa/v seems to be just perfect!

It will probably come out in Poland (where I normally live) as well but as it usually is will be overpriced 300-500$.

Any news on F8S for NA premier?

Should get mine on Saturday :D Oh and Kakoon: at this point there's only SA version available, no info about SV (in Poland).

The F8 seems pretty solid. It is definitly better built than the A8. And looks better too.

Wait, what? I thought that the A and F lines were both only made of plastic. It might look fancy but I don't think it'll be very durable.

As for the US release - don't hold your breath. I've been watching it since July.

It is made of plastic. But Better plastic. The plastic's definitly thicker, which make it feel better built and more duraböe. But also heavier. And heftier

Do you have one? I was seriously considering it but the delays + the fan on the right side turned me off. Looks nice, but I would have preferred all black.

I have an A8. But Asus was at my Uni today, so i got the chance to play around with one. It's definitly better plastic than an A8.
