    Hey all,
Just have one quick question... I realize just using the ASUS supplied drivers are the best idea, but I'm wondering...for the power4gear function, if I use the latest drivers & modded INF from LaptopVideo2Go (which is back up now, yay!), will that stop the P4G stuff from working with the videocard? ie: if I'm in battery saving mode, will the GPU still be trying to run at normal speeds, and not power saving?
Just wondering before I go and try installing the 169.13 driver & INF :)

    Cheers!

From my understanding, P4G only puts a restraint on your cpu, the gpu wont get that much of a work load unless you start gaming (which will be pretty crappy on P4G). The gpu will not have any restraint, but it will be bottle necked by the cpu when in power save.

basically, you should notice no difference after installing the new drivers!

there does however exist one known issue though. this one is sporadic...

upon installing modded drivers, whenever youre not plugged in, your brightness setting will reset to 100% within a few minutes. you can pull it back down to whatever amount, but sure enough, a few minutes later it will quickly step back up to 100%.

this will not occur when youre plugged in. and this can be solved by simply switching back to the asus drivers.

its something quite sporadic. certain modded drivers will not trigger this phenomenon, others will.

    Fusive,

You can fix that issue by going into your Vista power options (high performance, balanced, etc.), and hitting the "advanced settings buttons". Fool around with the "Smartdimmer" settings under Display.

That did the trick for me.
