I am trying to decide between the F8SP-X1 and the F8SN-D1, as both these laptops have the same $999 MSRP (although I've found them for less). The specs are slightly different:
F8Sp-X1
ATI Radeon HD 3650 1GB (Not Shared)
Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.00GHz (Merom)
F8Sn-D1
Nvidia GeForce 9500 GS 512MB
Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 1.83GHz (Merom)
Basically all the other specs are the same. Does anyone have compartive benchmarks for the graphics and battery life? The F8Sp-X1 actually looks to be a better bargain in this price bracket, but it's hard to tell without real numbers...Also, ATI has far better Linux drivers, so that's another reason to go with the F8Sp, but I'm looking for more info before deciding.

go with the f8sn kind, has better graphics and u can probably upgrade the processor ur self or get someone to do it. and r u going to run linux? and 3650 can only use up to 256 mb out of the 1gb it has becuase of the bus width being 128 bit wide bus.

Thanks for that reply. I was thinking I could upgrade the processor myself down the line. I just hope that the F8Sn-D1 doesn't have the crappier AUO screens instead of the CMO screens I have heard of in the F8Sn-B1 (which has the T8100 Penryn).
As for the HD 3650, I know the 1GB is pure marketting fluff, but so is the 512MB on the 9500GS--which has better shader performance though? I was reading on a german notebook review site that the 3650 did a lot better in World in Conflict while the 9500 GS did far better in Call of Duty 4, so it's kind of a tossup.
Intel drivers for Linux are awful however. A quick browse on Phoronix will tell you all about the 2D acceleration issues plaguing the 9500 GS series beta drivers.
