I did a search on the forum and i do not believe the issue i'm having is something normal. I have the above laptop bought back in early summer. I've noticed lately when i shut the computer down and start it up in the am i get a fan sound that i can only describe as when a bearing is going on a fan, which disappears after about a minute or so. Never did this before and again it only happens if the lappy is off and allowed to cool completely then booted back up. I also notice that if i lift it up and turn it side to side or up and down it dissipates but comes back when put back level. My concern is if it's the CPU or GPU fan going and i'll have bigger issues to deal with. I'm not over-clocking etc and i run it mostly on AC power.

Thanks ahead of time for any ideas/suggestions :D

It could be dust accumulation on the fan blades that is causing it to be off balance and hit the fan casing. At lower speeds this could be more pronounced than at higher speeds. This could also explain why at certain angles you notice the noise as well. You may try blowing out the fan to see if this helps the problem.

    *EDIT*
By blowing out the fan I do not mean blowing dust from the heatsink back into the fan, but rather actually getting to the fan and making sure the blades are clean.

i gave that a try before but my thoughts were if it were dust it would do it all the time and not just when it's cooled off. but thanks for posting !

Not necessarily. At higher speeds the higher speed of the fan could compensate for a slightly off balance blade(s). If you have already made sure that the fan blades were free of dust build up though nevermind.
