I've go a U41sv and i realised that my fan is always running pretty fast (and loud), even when i'm on idle or surfing the internet.

My core temps are like 46celcius. On entertainment mode.

I brought it out once, and was running on battery. Den i noticed that the fan was pretty quiet.

Anyway way to rectify this? i'm going to university soon, and im worried that the rushing fan sound might becoming amplified in a quiet library or lecture.

Do you have the most recent BIOS update from the ASUS site for that machine? I have heard of a few models that had that issue solved when they updated the BIOS on the machine.

It could also have a bit to do with your performance settings for battery/plugged in since it seemed to slow down with just the battery in.

Annoyingly, u41sv on the website doesn't seem to have any Bios updates, apart from the bios utilities...

Hmmm...have you contacted ASUS support to see if they have a BIOS update available?
