    Hello guys
Sorry,if this questions was asked, but i can't find any specific related topic.I just got Asus N53SV-SX386V laptop with win 7 64 bit. I downloaded drivers from asus site but it seems they are pretty outdated,so i was wondering can i use drivers from nvidia site 270.61 for laptops vga series 500 since i have GT540.
Same question goes for intel mobile chipset driver since they are pretty newer than on asus page.Version V9.2.0.1015 is on Asus page and on intel is 9.2.0.1030.

Typically its the best idea to stick with the drivers that Asus provides. They have been tested to fully work on your specific model. The ones you get from Nvidia work most of the time but theres always a chance for driver conflicts.

If you think you can get better performance the go for the ones directly from Nvidia, you can always reinstall the Asus ones.
Same goes for the intel chipsets.

Yeah I have had a lot of success using drivers from this site Omega Drivers
You will find good drivers can improve performance quite a lot (well thats what I have found) for example if you look at Nvidia Quadro cards they are actually standard cards but with carefully written drivers and optimisations they sell them as work station GPU's go figure NVIDIA Quadro FX 380M - Notebookcheck.net Tech what does that say for their standard drivers I must say

Laptop manufacturers in general are quite slack at updating GPU drivers, I have also used a modification tool from the above mentioned site, that will allow you to use desktop GPU drivers on your laptop NVIDIA MobilityModder, some hit and some miss, but it means I could get upto date GPU drivers for Windows 7 64bit working on my 5 year old Asus W3J. worth a look, but best to do this when you have afresh install, then if you muck it up, you can reinstall windows (I only had to do this once) but my card was really old finding up to date drivers to run on Windows 7 64bit took a few attempts, but hey it works and with good performance!!

Asus doesn't always post the latest drivers on their websites. Going directly to the hardware manufacture would be the best alternative if you want the newest drivers.
