Hello all. Well I'm pleased to say I finally made up my mind. I'm getting an Asus for the holiday season. Yay...

A couple of questions I'd like to get answered first:

    - What's the difference between the G1S- A1 and the G1S- B1 models?

    - What websites do you recommend I buy this model? Some even let you customize it! (Increasing RAM/HD)

    - Is there anyway to find a model with a fingerprint reader? If not, oh well...

    - I'm looking for transfer cables to transport my files from this old comptuer to the new laptop, the only one I know if is the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable. Does anyone know any more?

    Thank you all.

    1) The difference is CPU... IMO, not worth it
    2) I ordered mine from excaliberpc.com, very worthwhile. Also try GentechPC (A good price nowadays is around $1600 for the A1)
    3) No, not possible.
    4) You could just transfer them manually using an External Harddrive or through a wireless network, etc.

    1. The differences are Intel T7500 v.s T7700, 160GB 5400RPM v.s. 200GB 7200RPM, and Intel Turbo memroy. (plus minor software update on the B1 model.)

    2. No fingerprint reader option, you can get an USB fingerprint reader if needed.

    3. Try networking two computers or an external storage device.

Thank you so much you two. excaliberpc.com looks great...ONE last question if you don't mind -

Does it come with Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint? Or do I have to buy the software separately? (Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition 2007)

I'm ordering it soon. Maybe tonight. Any last minute deals out there? Can't beat a free 3GB RAM upgrade on excaliperpc.

it comes with a 30 day trial version. i didn't even use it, just uninstalled the trial version and put my older copy of office 2003 on it. i bought the A1 about 4 months ago and love it still! you are getting a great laptop, hope you enjoy it!
