    Is this possible?

Using the fingerprint reader to log on to the system is the only thing I want to use Asus Data Security Manager for. Otherwise, I've read about its issues and I just generally don't like it and don't need it.

I want to get rid of it but in that case the logon screen doesn't give me an option to use my fingerprint reader to sign on. Anybody using an alternative to this?

What kind of issues is the program supposed to have? I've been using it, and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. It actually seems like a solid app that integrates into Vista well.

uninstall the CSS software. Install only the fingerprint s/w and you can use the fingerprint reader to log into windows.

Many people report music stuttering when using ASUS Data Security.

ADSM also caused a major lag on my system whenever I opened up folders. Got rid of it and folders opens MUCH faster

In the options you should be able to disable all the services but windows logon.
