Hi,
I just boughtan asus v500CA and I l love it. Only problem I seem to be having is anunresonsivespacebar. I've looked up this problem and it seems to bea reoccuring one with asus laptops, so sending t backto asus for a fixwon't work. I'm doubting to try to fix it myselfsinceit's brand new and Idon'twant to void the warranty. Furthermore, I'm not the bestatfixing broken things. Theproblem apparently lies in the fact that there is only one screw attached in the middle and that the rest of the spacebar doesn't push the screwdown when not pressing the exact middle. I'veseen people fixing it by twitching the sides of the spacebar and other people by putting in plastic tape. Both apparently worked. I've just typedthis text and I now see how bad this problem actually is since I really tried pressing the exact middle. This laptopis supposedto be for writing a thesis and that's not going to work like this.
Should I send it back regardless? Should Itry fixing it? If so, any advice? I've never done this before. (I bought thelaptop last Fridayso it's brand new)
Thanks

If you bought it last Friday, exchange it at the store you bought it from for the same model, or a different one.

The spacebar may be off of its rail, which is a simple fix but involves not breaking fragile plastic tabs. I would also recommend returning it to the store.
