Gary Key has informed me that in North America, the tech service has been corrected about voiding warranties for bad flashes. Service areas outside of North America are in the process of being updated.
This was never Asus' policy on the matter, and will no longer be reflected as such by their Support teams.
If you do have any problems involving this issue, feel free to PM me with your RMA info, and I'll see to it it's followed up.

Gary is contacting the various regional managers for their respected locations and correcting their policy.

Thanks Chastiry you are awesome. I emailed support numerout times and was told, yes, no, yes and I do not know. Time to take the plunge I guess! Say a prayer 4 me.
Go Watson, Jennings was no match, Chastity is it true you were at a keyboard behind the scenes? -
So, bricking a laptop while updating the bios is covered too? It always has been up here in the great white north... but it'd be good news to hear it again

It probably has something to do with the way employee performance is measured at the call center. Either that or poor training. Either way this isn't a change of policy, a BIOS flash has never voided warranty. They would need a disclaimer in many places where there is none.

The Repair Centers are a subcontractor for Asus, and sometimes they implement their own ideas, and need to be corrected by Asus Management.
No prayers needed. If they give you a hassle about it, speak to a supervisor, or refer your RMA # to Asus employees, and they can have your issue handled properly. Dude, you're covered!
