I was pressing the hand rest area on my W3J today to see how sturdy it was. The right side is nice, firm and solid. However, the left side is not so much the case. Just to the left of the touchpad, on the black touchpad area, if you press down on it lightly, you can hear a clicking noise. You need to press lightly along the edge of the touchpad on the leftside on the black handrest. I think this maybe because the DVD Burner is right underneath, but I'm not sure. Can you W3J owners test this out on your machines and tell me if this happens? Its not that big of a deal and its not loud. You have to listen very very closely to hear it. Can you guys just do me a favor and test it out for me. Thanks.

P.S. The image below shows where this click noise occurs. Press down lightly on the red area of you W3J.

Yea, I think there is a tad of empty hollow space there, with the OD on the left, the right side is fine since the HD is placed right there.

ya mine has a little click to it- I wouldnt worry about it tho because in real world use when would you ever press directly there. Actually my whole touchpad clicks a little if I press hard but only if I press hard- I don't think about it because I know that although there might be the odd creak in these machines, the overall build quality is amazing. I picked up my buddies dell 6400 and the thing is full of creaks. The w3j is waaaayyyy more solid.

Don't worry about it... just try to enjoy your notebook. I understand as I am a "perfectionist" myself and I tend to be picky on an item that is worth thousands of dollars to me....

if you're fussy about every single imperfection, then your enjoyment of the notebook would get less and less, and that's not what we want. Just let it be and enjoy your W3j. It's certainly a great notebook :) The notebook is made to last, get the most utility out of it.
