Hello. My F3Sv notebook came with several Fn+* keys mapped to different applications. One of the keys was mapped to the Outlook email app. I uninstalled the trial version of MS Office 2007 that came with the computer, and now that Fn key combo with the blue envelope symbol does not do anything. Is there a way for me to make it launch my preferred email application? There is nothing obvious in the Vista control panel. I looked in this forum, and found the Asus Notebook Keys program, but that seems to be something extra that I dont want. I just want to essentially fill the space left open by Outlook, in regards to the Fn key. I wonder if its in the Windows registry somewhere?

Hmm...good question, I kinda like to know myself. Does it just launch what ever is the default email app?
-
Not on my C90S, it only launched either Outlook in XP or Windows Mail in Vista. In XP the web-browser hotkey opens the default browser, but in Vista it only opens IE.

The mail hotkey on my c90 opens both aim and outlook, interestingly enough.

Set your default mail app using windows set program defaults (it's somewhere in control panel i think). I set mind to mozilla thunderbird and the Fn key worked great for it.
Hopefully that should work -
I tried setting it as the default program, that didn't work, unfortunately. It's just Windows Mail I'm talking about as well. Fn + F3 are my hot keys.

He's talking about XP, I just saw that option, haven't tried it out yet. Also that option does not appear in Vista.
