    Hi,
I have a empty folder and i can't remove it as it keep saying that the folder is in use even though its not. I checked the processes (ctrl+alt+del) and no software is using it, virus scaned with latest trend micro virus pattern, spyware scanned too. No traces found. I know that this folder is somehow a write-error on the harddisk. Please advice how should i force remove this folder from my harddisk?

Can you drag it to your recycle bin?

    Try restarting your computer.

That often happens to me when unzipping files into a folder, then wanting to delete it. It says the same thing you described.

It usually deletes once I restart my computer

Hold Shift and press the Delete key to permanent delete it (will not show up in recycle bin).

White-Out ALWAYS works for me. ;)

Try deleting the contents first, you might find the problem in there.

i also have an annoying problem like that. I tried to uninstall the Norton 2005 that came with it, and I did get it to uninstall... but it kinda froze at the very end.... so its still listed on my list of programs that i can add/remove... but i cant remove it no matter what I try. I dont even think the folder is there, its just still listed.

There are a few folders in WinXP that just cant be removed, I have no idea why (Something to do with windows file protection).

If you go into Program Files, there is a xerox folder that is frozen. I believe there is another 1 or 2 folders like this. Search on google for "xerox folder" and you should find some info.
