    Hello,
I recently purchased the K53e-BBR9 and yesterday installed the Kingston HyperX 1866mhz 8gb Memory Kit and using the Integrated GMA-3000, my Graphics Score is now a 6.3. (Graphics and Gaming Graphics)

This is identical to the Legit Reviews Scores for this Model. The differences are positively astonishing. I went from a WEI of a 4.7 to a 5.9 with the limiting factor being the HD. Otherwise, the WEI would be a 6.3. Prior, my Graphics Score was a 4.7 and the limiting factor on the WEI.

Last night I Downloaded the Mafia 2 Demo and the Game Play quite good at 720p Resolution. While Gaming is not high on my list of priorities, the differences brought by this RAM is nothing short of astonishing.

I got really lucky as I found a NIB K53e-BBR9 on closeout from Best Buy for $409. I literally called every Best Buy within 150 Miles of where I live in Florida to find this Model. On the last day of the Return Period, I found out the price went down to $383. BB Price Matched and I received a Gift Card.

Anyway, I just thought I would share my experience with the HyperX. For K53e-B1 Owners and other Sandy Bridge Owners without GC's, the $119 that Amazon charges for it is money well spent.
    Cheers,
    JJ

    Hello,
Forgive me for Posting again on the Thread I started as there have been no other Replies, but I just wanted to point out that a number of Best Buy's have the K53e-BBR9 for $383.00.

This is an absurd price for a Sandy Bridge i5-2410 Processor with 4gb of DDR3 RAM, 500gb HD (5,400 RPM), etc. Also, I came across a few BB's that still showed stock of the vaunted K53TA as well for even less than the BBR9.

These Models only appear when searching for specific Stores and clicking on their Clearance Items. And while I know that the WEI is of little importance to most, I still find it astonishing that for just over $500 (after adding the HyperX 1866mhz Memory Kit) I have a Notebook with a 5.9 Rating with the Hard Drive being the limiting factor. On the other Subscores, the lowest Rating is the 6.3 for both Graphics Ratings. And the Gaming Performance is shockingly good now for having Integrated Graphics.
    Cheers,
    JJ

    Hello,
Don't use WEI as a benchmark since it's quite possibly the worst benchmark ever created. Try running 3DMark before and after the upgrade, then you can compare the performance difference more accurately.

    Hello,
I actually did Download 3DMark 06 and ran it I have the numbers written down at home. As I said, I know the WEI is of little to no importance to many. However, after checking out the Demos for Mafia 2, and a few others, I honestly cannot believe that these Games are playable with Integrated Graphics.

It was reading the Legit Reviews Test of the HyperX on my actual Series of K53 that made me go ahead and order the Kit. For those interested, here is the link: Kingston HyperX 8GB 1866MHz PnP Memory Kit For Notebooks - Sandy Bridge Notebooks Get HyperX Treatment - Legit Reviews
