Is the U series better than K for build quality? I read the reviews on U (since theres a lot more than the Ks out there), and its ranked very high. According to the reviews its got aluminum top lid and palm rest.

The K from what i read has very average build quality and the keyboard has lots of flex.

    i3 vs i5
    2kg vs 2.2kg
    13'' vs 14''
    metal vs plastic

    Anything else to add?

13 vs 14'' is a toss up, same with the weight. Im willing to give up some size and weight for a faster CPU (if the i5 is a considerable upgrade from i3). But if the build quality (especially keyboard) is way better in the U im willing to settle for less power on the cpu.

Also, the U30JC should have much longer battery life, since it has Optimus.

Why not get the u30jc with the i5 processor? Then all your problems will be solved! (for a little bit more $$$)

No one in Canada sells it, at least not locally. Going by past experiences i avoid buying laptops online, just too much hassle shipping back and fourth if i get a DOA or any defects within 30 days.

But my question is, is the build on the U series considerably better than the K?

Funny, this is the exact same issue I am going through right now.

Can you give me some updates and why you went with what you did-looks like the U30JC-A1

I know Best Direct also has it (in Van and Toronto), but is there any other company that does?
