I was just thinking about the e4300 CPU. It's like the cheapest Core 2 Duo on the market. Runs at ~$105. I have read online where people have pin modded to and made it run from the stock 1.8Ghz to e6600 speeds at 2.4Ghz. I wonder if the motherboard in the C90 supports pin modding. I know some motherboards will recognize it and others will not.

It would be a great option for people who want a good CPU at a great price for their C90. Would be a savings of ~$100 over the e6600.

The Allendale core runs hotter than Conroe, so I think that a Conroe CPU is a good investment to make. Go for the E6320 or E6420, they are going for around $150 now I think.

Exactly and end of the story for the longer battery life debate. It's a powerhouse desktop that you can lift with your one finger :D

I may be the first person who will order this from South East Asia (high fraud country), just waiting for Ken at Gentech to respond to my 3 emails he never got to reply. Don't worry Ken, I pay US$ CASH!

    My specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6600 2.4 GHz with Arctic Silver 5
    RAM: Kingston 2GB DDR-2
    HD: Seagate Momentus 7200.2 160GB 7200rpm
    Intel® PRO/Wireless 4965 802.11 a/b/g/n

Anyone know whether if it's best to boost the performance to get RAM: 3GB Generic or Corsair/Kingston 2GB?

I was thinking about Acer 5920G, but finally decided for C90. Here is what I ordered:
    - E6600 2.4 GHz
    - 512 MB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
    - 160 GB SATA 5400rpm
    - WLAN (802.11n), Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, InfraRed
    - mouse and bag

Not sure about fingerprint scanner. Also, there is MCX connector in the specs (probably something about built in TV tuner. Could not find any info about that on the web).
All that for 1500 euros. Delivery expecting next week.

No ddr3 for the 8600gt (unless theres a new card i havent heard anything about)

Fingerprint reader is built in and its standard so youll get it

US' c90s doesnt get the tv tuner, it seems that the card will be sold separatley... but the mcx connector seem to be useless in the US not sure if its a NTSC vs PAL thing... cant remember the explanation...

Yeah, the MCX Connector is definitely for PAL territories only, which is quite unfortunate. You bolster a feature and sell it primarily in the United States, and yet there are features inside that aren't compatible with our technology?

Someone needs to think about creating a universal MCX Connector, stat. I hate when there's always a NTSC vs. PAL situation going on. :p

Dude, the MCX connector is not exclusively PAL, it can do NTSC and ATSC as well, its just a connector. Its the tuner itself that would determine which stander it supports and which it does not and as of right now, there is no TV tuner build into the C90S. It just flat out has not yet been released, just like all those promised little upgrade that Asus says there gonna have for us.

I was hoping for mine to day but that was only the package with the CPU, RAM, HDD and the 8600GT.

    I took it with a E4500

DDR3 was mentioned in the specs, but I don't trust that info, since they also wrote "E6600 2.4 GHz 1024FSB 4MB L2 Cache". Quite lame.

People who put their hands on C90 say the build quality is so so. The plastic feels cheap and things like that. I would like to know the c90 owners' opinion about it. I changed my mind about Acer 5920 just because of poor build quality (the buttons under the touch pad were complete junk) and look. On photos C90 looks very decent. Any opinions please (also about noise and that fanless mode)?

I agree its the tuner itself that hast to be pal or ntsc, but given that the connector its not standard in the us.....
