I just got mine to go thru, and I may have discovered the potential problem that was the main reason nobody had it working.
I remembered that I still needed to register for the accidental damage warranty coverage the other day and since then tore my house inside out looking for my warranty card and alas I lost it.
I knew tho that it was not needed, really all it was, was a card with my serial #, and the address needed to mail it.
So figured I will just write down my serial number here at work and go online to do it.
Google quickly found me the site: http://adw.asus.com/content/adp/default.aspx#
so I wrote down my serial # (which is the number above the barcode in my case not below with a S/N tag like there little picture shows you.
When I went to go type it in, my computer auto completed it for me. Since I had tried to do it in the past when it was not working... and guess what?
There was one digit different! At the very end of my code I have a "1C" on the computer itself, but what I was typing from the warranty card was "AC"
I had entered it atleast 12 times, so I feel the chances of me reading the card wrong or having a typo are almost 0. So I think its very possible that the card has a mis-print on it.
So if you still have problems with your registration, look on the bottom of your notebook and see if the number is the same.
This is not terribly uncommon I guess for printed materials to be wrong since just recently thousands of people had typos on there warhammer online beta codesall the O's were printed as Q and vice versa.

That's crazy... when I registered I just took the number directly off the bottom of the G50V.. good thing I guess!

Yeah not I have to do it for both of the EEE's and still got to mail out the recipt & email I guess.
Sucks lol I thought the idea of online registration was to avoid all that stuff. Wonder if they make you do that if you mail in the card.
For those of you that had problems with the G50V Warrenty Registration.
