I know this was posted as news and as an announcement here on NBR, as well as on the main page of our site, but I just wanted to make sure no one misses out on this years contest. It's for the whole world to enter, but the Asus Fanatics should have an upper hand.

Basically, I'll give you the short of it here... but if you don't have the energy to click through to read the details, chances are you won't have it in you to enter the contest anyway. The two big questions are answered that you're wondering about are below. At this time, we have the deadline for the contest as January 5th, so there are still a few weeks left to enter. Have fun with it and you'll have a really good chance at winning something.

    Purpose:
The purpose of this contest is to be creative with logo and/or product placement via photography. We want our logo and/or our computers to be represented in a fashion of your choice.

    Prizes:
Grand Prize: PROPortable Custom R2h Origami UMPC ($1,400 assessed value)
First Place: $500 PROPortable Gift Certificate
Second Place: $250 PROPortable Gift Certificate
Third Place: $100 PROPortable Gift Certificate

You can find out the details on the contests homepage:

I am going to close this thread, so please post all questions, comments, and general replys in Andrew's original thread here:

Just wanted to give this notice a little more life.... I don't want people upset when they submit their entries late... There are only three weeks left so good luck to all, and have a great weekend!

Two weeks left...... I know most people hold out till the end, but the turnout is less than stellar (only the typical overachievers)... So, I think at this point odds are much better than I had originally thought they'd be at this point.

You’re only supposed to send one picture. Perhaps you could get your other one from the contest removed if you think your new idea is better...

Since I had the contest extended... I don't see a reason why we could replace an entry...... so if you have a better one, just send it over and remind me to delete the other.

Hi, I checked your website and you said "we had hundreds of plain text entries with simply names and addresses, but no attached photos. We also had dozens of names and address saved and attached as jpg's, but no photo for the contest."

I wonder that many pasriticipants may have mistakenly attached or send their entries. Dont you think its better if you listed the names of those hundreds of participants at least their names, so just in case WE CAN RESEND THE ENTRY AGAIN. I mean, I myself may mistakenly send my entry wronly. What do you think?

OTHERWISE, at least you can POST the NAMES of the participants that have send the entries without problem or a list of all VALID ENTRIES. It is lesser than the ones you have mentioned.

    Please let me know...

If you really aren't sure, check you sent mail. or just resend it and leave a message in the email so that they know why you sent the email again.

People who didn't attached a picture got an email returned to them.... and most of them didn't respond... either people they all of sudden realized they'd have to do work to be part of the contest or simply didn't understand the email - much like they didn't understand the rather simple rules in the first place... So, I wouldn't worry about it.

Well.. I still believe that the reason why you have extended the contest is ONLY FOR ONE reason. There are only few participants and you wanted more participants to come.

Otherwise, if you wouldn't worry about it, Then, you should have just let the contest ended as scheduled even only few entiries were there.

Anyways, Im still hoping everything will go ahead now. And Im happy to paticipate in your Contest. For this will make the ASUS community more active and bigger. Beisdes, this is what matter's most.

    Good Luck to everybody....

Excuse me? The reason we extended the contest is because the turnout for the photo part of the contest was pathetic.

We were going to pick the best 10 in 3 different categories, but we couldn't even pick 1/2 of that we even thought were ok, let alone really deserved to win. So, we extended it to give people that were busy during the holiday to put a little time and thought into the project. As of today, I think we're going to pick our ten and then simply let the forum pick the best three overall and be done with it.

Let me put it this way, even though the odds on the random R2h drawing are closer to 1000 to 1 right now, about 70 of those are pictures. Most are so bad (either they didn't even take a picture FOR the contest, or just laid our logo on something and called it quits), of the top say 15, I'd say some people actually have a better chance winning the random drawing, because there are probably only 6-8 that members will even end up voting for..... That's bad. Regardless, every entry gets the random shot at the R2, and I know that's what most of you want anyway.
