Is there a big, huge, noticable improvement in the build quality in the Z70va over the Z83V because of its carbon fibre body? I have read that the Z70va has possibly the best keyboard out there of all ASUS, and maybe one of the best period, no flex what so ever. Feel free to comment. Im wondering if I should change mine to a Z70va? I have to decide quick as I would like to ship this out Monday if possible, if the switch warrants the trouble, price and benefits.

They keyboard on the Z70va doesnt really flex at all. But i cant believe you are still bothered by alittle flexing. Does anyone else have a z83 on this board? Do you all have the same flexing issues?

Best if you send Caboose over at notebookforums.ca a PM, he owns one and is very happy with it, he never mentioned anything about keyboard flex at all.
And Carbon Fibre is stronger, but only if its thick enough, the CF used in all ASUS models are fairly thin, its constructed with less thickness then plastic, resulting in a thinner and lighter model, but it only means its stronger by a bit. -

The z83v has a solid keyboaRD however it may need to be modded. i dont know if its the manufacturer proccess but some of them need some adjusting from the bottom. There are some tension type metal things below the kb and the may sometimes need a bit adjusting also some type of metal magnets that hold it down as well sometimes need to be aligned. It has a pretty strange design. But overall a solid kb.

You already bought a system and at this point if you feel like you've made the wrong decision, you're basically going to have to live with it.... because whether you can return it or not.... you're going to be asking the same questions about the Z70va two weeks from now. You're over analyzing your purchase. By happy with what you have because they're both good machines, but meant for two totally different people....

You'll kill yourself over this... trust me. Be happy with what you've got or it'll tear you up inside. Just now that it's totally different and although it's got the same graphics card... the system is just meant for a different type of use....

Just look at it kind of like marriage...you just married your Z83v.
Sure you have your doubts about your decision (at first), but you really have to give it a chance before you do anything drastic (dump it for the next hottest thing) -

.... right and that's how you should have seen it before and if you need to take it out more, 6.5 pounds is certainly a lot less than almost 9 pounds... but again, that's something that should have gone into your decision making process from the begining. If you add in the differences in resolution (one is smaller with a higher res and the other is larger with a lower res) ... that's like night and day.... it depends on your needs and those are the things that I'm sure you looked and considered before buying... right?

Also, another thing to note is the screen difference. If you really like your glossy screen, you may not want to switch to the matte WSXGA+ screen. That is something that you might start comparing it back over to the z83v.... but who knows.

The heaviness doesnt bother me, Im a strong boy anyways. Besides if im out and get tired of it on my shoulder I just start doing arm curls with it and the ladies love watchin
The ONLY and I do mean ONLY reason I even considered the VA was the CF chasis. -

I agree with Justin. Just keep your baby and enjoy it. You will be asking questions about the Z70Va as well.
If you can do what you do on it without too much distraction of creaking or anything you should be fine.
Cheers,

Sounds good, sounds like theres not much difference in feel between the two.

For those of you, that have used the Z70va and Z83V before
