Do you have the 3x5" HDD grey plastic cover for underneath the Z63? Mine is cracked and I'd love to get an intact one to replace it.

Also, if you have the top outside cover (grey) for the back of the z63's LCD (careless scratches I'd want to get rid of with a replacement) - but I'm not sure how difficult it might be to pull this off. Any thoughts?

How should I get you my mailing address? thx. --troy

    - top case
    - bottom case
    - LCD cover
    - LCD bezel
    - LCD hinges
    - 2nd HDD caddy
    - fan / fan assembly
    - keyboard

Whichever of these you have, I'll get you rid of them. :) I can get a mailing address from some friends in the US if you give me one or two days.

I don't really need that stuff, it's really just spare parts for eventual replacement, so if anyone actually requires them they should take precedence.

I can spare the fan and any of the fan/heatsink parts. the rest i need. Also the drive bay covers, access covers or dummy filler
the lcd bezel, the lcd cover, the hinges, keyboard and 2nd hdd bay we sell. I cant give those away.

    Escape
You name what you need i tell you what i can give

    Sti-r
I have the bottom. Has very slight damage around the dc jack hole. Can be easily fixed with some super glue. I cant get rid of the palm rests just yet. In about a year our warranty for all these units expire and i will have more stuff then.

Thanks. I hope I'll be able to take the fan and heatsink (need to get the address of those friends). Let me confirm this, for standard shipping there are no shipping costs right?

I would also buy the other stuff but it's a bit difficult arranging with the payment for my friends; I think when I do that, I'll buy an entire load of components stuff including things for my V6.

Hmmm, Djembe may be interested, but hes rarely on NBR. And I don't think you want(or can lol) go to NBF :p

On a side note, I'm looking for a Lid, a Bottom casing and the wrist casing for the Z63a/W3a, but I can wait :)

I could use a Z71V hard drive cover and, if you have them, the PATA to SATA converter chip and the the modular bay hard drive caddy.

Hello, Z96J(s) user here, I have a few scratches on my back LCD panel, and palm rests that have been bugging me - if you have any spares of those that'd be great. Nothing is absolutely urgent, but I'd take any spare parts for the Z96J/S96J you have for eventual use. Especially if you had any of the original Z96J protoype lids before they went VBI - but I doubt it, so np :). If you have any spare Z96 fans that'd be cool too, I'd like to experiment a bit with improving them if I had a spare.

    Thanks,
    Cat

Hmm... i guess my inside palm rest for my W3V is developing the fading palm prints.. maybe a new plastic part for that will work , if thats out the darker Z63 one will be great too! :) thanks!!

do you know if the bottom assembly will fit in a w3j? from what i have seen on the online pictures they look the same but i am not too sure about the screw locations between both laptops.

I have alot of fans and heatsinks also.
bottom for a w3j is slightly different.
Also the palm rests that i do have some are also faded somewhat.
Djembe the cover is yours. I do not have the ide to sata converters any longer or if i do it be pretty ard to find them.
I chose to leave notebookforums after they told me politely to stay in the confines of the asus section. After i left the forum was sold and today they are reduced to one tenth of what they were years ago. I think the new owners of it got shafted pretty bad but its their fault anyways for implementing such an unconventional design.

    no prob.

Actually, the owners are the same. What changed is the management, or who the owners let run the day-to-day operations. That's shifted again, and the guy who was running things isn't on the site any more. I agree about the design, though. NBF has got a plan in place to change the color scheme, but the site coder says it's going to take a while to implement. Anyway..

Cool np - the lid is minor really - if you have a heatsink/fan - when you say about top and bottom covers does that include the section around the touchpad/palm rests?

    Thanks,

shipping is free on parts that can be snail mailed. on anything that weighs over an ounce or two it has to go ups ground. z70 heatsink and fan are ok for snail mail as they are light and small.

    Krista
that iss too heavy to be snail mailed. it has to go ground. ground is 10$ to the states 20$ to canada. If you dont need it now you prolly never will. they dont break and are not known to break

    cat
the palmrest (topcover) is one solid piece. to big to go into a padded envelope it has to go ground as well.

If you need it paypal me for ground. Small parts are free by snail mail.

Miro the last reply in the thread is exactly your answer by e.b.e.
I dont have free inverters. that is a part that can break. check the estore they do have them there. we also offer out of warranty repair. inspection is 40$. If you fix it here inspection is free. Cost to replace inverter is 120$ with shipping and labor. It also can be a dead or dying backlight. cost to replace the lcd is 400$ includes shipping.

Any parts for a W3J? Specifically, the laptop lid release button since mines just snapped. Now its painfully hard to open the lid. That, and the cpu fan on mines sounds like its about to die.

Ah, all right, nevermind then. My sister's ACER fan went bad last Christmas and I replaced the unit for her... wasn't sure how common that is. I have the unit from my original S96J that I sent in that got replaced with the S96Jm anyway, in case of failure.

    Thanks.

Well, the edges are scratched up and getting rougher each day. The average temperature has gone up over the last 2 months by ~4-5 Degrees Celsius. That's after a good dusting so I am not too sure what the problem is. Possibly the fan is dying. I don't need new parts but like I said I appreachiate anything. If I don't get anything that's cool too. Won't get upset over free stuff.

Sorry for offtopic: Maybe the quality of the thermal paste has degraded. If you're out of warranty you can try replacing it (if you change fan and stuff you could also replace it).
